Student Corner
Have you ever gardened to make a place more beautiful? The planting at the Hewlett House was a major success, and our efforts made a great impact on the patients who enjoy the Hewlett House garden. After we were done gardening, planting, and deweeding, the Hewlett House was transformed into a calm and peaceful place. The Lakeside Student Council members and the members of the Kennedy High School student government worked so well together. Other volunteers helped beautify the gardens too. We all worked for a couple of hours trying our best to make the Hewlett House a more beautiful place. We planted on Sunday, May 17th at the Hewlett House from 9AM until 12 PM. The Hewlett House is located at 86 E Rockaway Rd, Hewlett, NY. Our goal for the day was to help others who may be going through a challenging time. Giving back is such an important part of life. We have learned that service extends way beyond elementary school. Having the high school kids work alongside of us proved that to us!
